Grant Green - Idle Moments (1964)

Grant Green's most focused moment--even more so than any of his dates with Larry Young, at least on that title track. It's one of the most identifiable sequence of notes in jazz music and one of the greatest moods ever set. You can actually hear Joe Henderson trying to keep his volume down with the soft tones of Hutcherson, Green, and Pearson. I would use the term 'magnum opus' to describe this album as many other people do. Click the links below if you're new to jazz and want some fantastic moody rainy day music.
