Ice Cube - Kill At Will (1990)

In 1990 all eyes were on Ice Cube and N.W.A, wondering what was going to happen and who was going to come out on top. After his legendary gangsta-political debut, Amerikkka's Most Wanted, he teased the the world with this EP before dropping his next classic. Kill At Will is produced by Sir Jinx, but he's working with the groundwork laid by The Bomb Squad on Endangered Species, and it's insane, especially when Chuck D comes in with a verse even more fire than the one on the first edition of the track. After this track, Jinx proves himself with more intensity on The Product, only Ice Cube could take this dude to his full potential. Besides these speedy tracks, Cube maintains his energy over classic mid-tempo funk cuts all the classic West coast DJs were improving on in 1990. Ice Cube is an essential artist, and this EP falls right in the peak of his career, making it a must listen for hip hop fans or even somebody looking for an intro to his solo career.
