Juicy - Spread The Love (1987)

Juicy translates many of the production techniques featured on It Takes Two for Spread The Love and also introduces a few hints at the emerging New Jack Swing genre and reel in some echoes of the dead disco scene. The female singer really dominates here and she's got the same naturally fantastic voice and knowledge of how to use it as on It Takes Two. Spread The Love's weakness is that doesn't have any standout tracks like Sugar Free or Bad Boy and lacks the genuine intimacy that made their previous album a personal favorite of mine. A good album to pick up for anyone that loves 80s R&B or 90s gangsta rap beats.
