Silk - Lose Control (1992)

One of the 'cool' new jack swing groups of the early 90s, striding with the likes of early Jodeci and H-Town. Keith Sweat, the most dominant New Jack Swing artist of the 80s besides Bobby Brown, produces this album, and while the music isn't as groundbreaking as the sublime work DeVante put in (and I mean what is??), it's still plenty slick and sensual. The singers find the balance of letting out bad-boy emotions without ever sounding over-the-top or cheesy. The album is much more concise than the hour-long projects of their contemporaries and serves as a decent intro to the already forgotten 90s R&B world.
