The Isley Brothers - Live It Up (1973)

Perhaps the most known Isley Brothers album among hip hop heads for the iconic "one day you're here, and then you're gone". The group's discography is a little hit or miss, similar to Kool & The Gang, but you can't really go wrong with this peak-era album filled with clavinet, lush arrangements on the slower numbers, and Eddie Hazel/Hendrix (who started his career with the group) inspired guitar solos. To be honest, this album is a little too soft for me to really get into, but it's a got some classic grooves and melodies that have been sampled over and over. One of those records that you've got to hear, so don't let my opinion get in the way of you enjoying this.
